GIDEON
(Global Infectious Disease and Epidemiology
Network), an online infectious diseases differential diagnostic
tool, has been added to the Norris Library's collection. The diagnostic
portion of GIDEON prompts the user to enter information on the patient
being diagnosed. Based on the users input, the system presents a list
of possible disease matches. When more than one disease is possible, the
program allows the user to compare diseases in order to view differential
diagnosis criteria for the possible diseases. The system also provides
general information about infectious diseases, therapy information about
specific drugs, vaccine summaries, and an identification tool for pathogens.
