Some journals, listed here, submit articles to PubMed Central on behalf of their authors. If you publish in one of these journals, the publisher will submit the article to PubMed Central on your behalf, and you need only review and approve the PubMed Central submission.
If your article is published in another journal, you must first ensure that any copyright transfer or other publication agreement allows the article to be submitted to NIH in accordance with the policy. Upon acceptance for publication, you should submit the article to PubMed Central. See the NIH Submission Process for more information.
