NCBI Genome Databases

Genomes
The NCBI Entrez Genome database is a collection of complete large-scale sequencing, assembly, annotation, and mapping projects for cellular organisms.

Genome Project
The Entrez Genome Project is a companion database to the Entrez Genome database. It is a collection of both complete and incomplete (in-progress) large-scale sequencing projects.

Cancer Chromosomes
Cancer Chromosomes is the integration of three databases: NCBI Spectral Karyotyping (SKY) / Comparative Genomic Hybridization (CGH) Database, the NCI Mitelman Database of Chromosome Aberrations in Cancer, and the NCI Recurrent Aberrations in Cancer. The cytogenetic, clinical, and/or reference information can be retrieved from this database.

COGs
Each Cluster of Orthologous Groups of proteins (COGs) is a group of 3 or more proteins that are inferred to be orthologs. COGs were created by comparing protein sequences encoded in complete genomes.

Gene
Entrez Gene is one of the gene-centered resources at NCBI. It supplies key connections to the map, sequence, expression, structure, function, citation, and homology data. It is the successor to LocusLink, with a broader taxonomic scope, better integration with other databases in NCBI, and enhanced options for query and retrieval by Entrez system.
