VECTOR NTI: Molecular Construction and Design Workshop

Workshop Scope

This workshop focuses on creating new DNA molecules using the Molecular Construction and Molecular Design features of the Vector NTI software. It also provides instructions on using simulated gel electrophoresis to confirm a clone strategy. The hands-on exercises are designed to help first-time users to get started with the software.

Major Topics Covered:

  • Construct simple recombinant DNA molecules using Molecule Construct feature.
  • Design recombinant DNA molecules with simple donor and recipient molecules.
  • Design recombinant DNA molecules with complex donor and recipient molecules.
  • Use simulated gel electrophoresis feature to examine results of a clone strategy.

Prerequisite: Attendance of the Introduction to Vector NTI Advance 10 workshop or knowledge and hands-on experiences with main Vector NTI applications.

Schedule & Location

This workshop is offered twice during each academic semester. Unless otherwise noted, classes are held in the computer classroom, located on the second floor of the library. The schedule for the current semester is as follows:

No workshops are scheduled at this time.

Workshop Registration

Though not required, workshop registration will secure your seat when the number of attendees exceeds the Computer Classroom seating capacity.
