USC’s Pharmacy Alumni Association was formed only a few years after the founding of the College of Pharmacy in 1905. Since that time, thousands of graduates have represented approximately 50% of Southern California’s practicing pharmacists.

We are a non-profit organization in the truest sense of that phrase. We exist solely on modestly priced annual dues, a small (tax deductible) charge for the opportunity to stay in touch with your fellow alumni via our newsletter and social events. As a member of the Association, you are also assisting the School of Pharmacy and its students, to ensure the School’s fine reputation and, ultimately, benefiting all pharmacy practitioners.

The Association serves its members and the School of Pharmacy in a number of ways. Each year, the Board of Directors allocates funding to assist student organizations in School-related activities and travel. Through generous contributions the Alumni Association has fulfilled a $25,000 endowed scholarship, a $50,000 building pledge and the Charles Krown/Pharmacy Alumni Professorship.

Each Spring, we sponsor the Alumni/Senior Awards Banquet, providing recognition for outstanding members of the graduating class. We also honor an Outstanding and Honorary alumnus who have made significant contributions to the profession of pharmacy. It is our pleasure to host the members of the current graduating class, as well as our 50-year graduates. In the fall, we get together on the eve of the USC Homecoming football game for class reunion receptions and dinner. On Homecoming day, we welcome our alumni, students, family and friends to join us for our pre-game picnic held on the University Park Campus to revitalize that "Trojan Spirit."

We have a 26-member Board of Directors, presided over by a President, Vice-President and Treasurer. Members of the Board of Directors are elected for three-year terms. The Board meets monthly throughout the academic year, and seeks the counsel of the Dean, student representatives and the QSAD President. Any Association member in good standing may attend a Board of Directors meeting. The makeup of our Board is a healthy mixture of age groups with professional expertise and broad backgrounds. This insures lively, productive discussions at our meetings with the result of fulfilling a single goal - to serve all USC Pharmacy graduates.
