How To Use This Site

The USC Graphic Identity Program Web site was designed to support you in successfully using the USC Graphic Elements ("USC Marks"). Follow these steps when using the site:

  1. Review the Home Page
Get an overview of the Graphic Identity Program and its main graphic elements.
  2. Select a Media Type
Determine the type of media you need. For example, do you need a mark for a print piece, Web site, or product? Choose one of the media types from the top of the home page: Print, Web, Stationery, Products or Presentations.
  3. Read the Media Main Page
Review the general guidelines for that media type, including which USC graphics can be used. Because each media has its own visual requirements, some graphics do not translate well. Therefore, avoid using graphics that have NOT been recommended for the media you have chosen.
  4. Select a USC Graphic
Based on the guidelines and recommendations, decide upon a graphic that will work best for your media type and project.
  5. Review the Graphic's Guidelines
Each graphic has its own unique requirements. When followed, these guidelines will help you create a visually effective product that promotes USC's identity.
  6. Review Incorrect Usage or Acceptable Combinations
It's important to see what not to do. And, believe us, each of these examples has been attempted...unsuccessfully! Additionally, some graphics can be combined.
  7. Go to the Download Graphics Page
When you click on the download graphics link, an agreement notice appears. Select OK to agree to the USC requirements of use and to download the graphic. To download a file, click on the graphic or the graphic's text description. Keep in mind that the files have been zipped. If you have questions on how to extract a zip file, follow the instructions provided.
  8. Visit Contact Us
If you need help, use the contact information provided to get assistance from a USC staff member. In addition, you can review the FAQs for products.
