Scheduled Voicemail Maintenance for UPC and Downtown LA (September 9)

From 4:30 to 5:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 9, voicemail services will be intermittently unavailable in several buildings on the University Park campus and Downtown LA due to scheduled maintenance.

Scheduled Network Maintenance for HSA (September 11)

From 5:00 to 5:10 a.m. on Saturday, September 11, ITS will perform scheduled network maintenance at the Health Sciences Alhambra campus. During this time, users may experience intermittent connectivity issues on the USC wired and wireless network.

Scheduled ITS Oracle Calendar Maintenance (September 11)

From 12:01 to 1:00 a.m. on Saturday, September, ITS will perform scheduled maintenance on the ITS Oracle Calendar system. During this time, users will be unable to access or update their calendars.

The ITS P2P awareness program is an educational program designed to improve understanding of how peer-to-peer file sharing programs operate.

Important Information Regarding RCF and BCF Accounts Affecting Faculty and Staff

ITS currently provides two types of faculty and staff computing accounts: a basic account on the basic compute facility (BCF) and a research account on the research compute facility (RCF). BCF accounts and RCF accounts are currently hosted on the same machine, almaak.usc.edu. On June 30, 2010, USC's Information Technology Services (ITS) will move all BCF accounts from almaak.usc.edu to a new machine, mizar.usc.edu, in order to ensure a better user experience for both types of account holders.

Phishing Email Warning

Please be advised that many illegitimate email messages are sent to USC account holders with variations of the Subject line: Re-Activate Your Account. These phishing schemes are attempts to steal your personal information through legitimate-looking email messages. The messages urge recipients to reply by email and include their USC password and other personal information.
