Application and Operating System
Support Levels

ITS Information Infrastructure offers four levels of End User support. This support is intended for machines on which ITS has some measure of control. In other situations, Information Infrastructure will attempt to meet these standards whenever possible.

Levels of support are as follows:

Full Support

For ITS supplied services or applications we will do everything possible to resolve the problem.

Standard Support

For ITS supplied services or applications we will support primary features for which the application was designed.

Basic Support

For ITS supplied services or applications we will support features common to other similar applications.

Minimal Support
For non-ITS provided applications we will evaluate the issue and refer users to the manufacturer or vendor of the application as necessary.

Operating Systems
ITS Information Infrastructure offers limited support for some Operating Systems that meet the following guidelines. Those that have a substantial USC user base, those that are backed by significant technical support by the vendor, and those that have inherent TCP/IP services. Within these, ITS supports TCP/IP networking on ITS Networks, network printing and application installation of ITS supplied applications.

Due to limited resources, ITS cannot support computing hardware or the installation of Operating Systems. We also cannot support specialized and/or private networks, nor can we assure proper printer output to all network printers. The Customer Support Center, located in Leavey Lower commons, will attempt data recovery on removable media but cannot guarantee the results.
