USC CST Technology Tools

Blackboard

USC's enterprise, multi-featured, online course management system.

Studio Classrooms

In summer 2006, the Office of the Provost funded the building of 16 technology-enhanced classrooms throughout both USC campuses and Childrens Hospital Los Angeles. These rooms were modeled after existing studio classrooms in the USC Viterbi School of Engineering and USC Marshall School of Business.

Second Life

Second Life is a 3-D online world where participants from all over the globe come together to interact and learn. Information Technology Services has established an island for dedicated use by USC’s faculty, students, and staff called “USC eLand.” Some USC Schools have created their own learning spaces in Second Life as well.

CST Experiments

To remain on the the cutting-edge of educational technology, USC is constantly evolving to meet the needs of faculty and students and that means piloting new programs for University-wide adoption. Currently, faculty are evaluating the following tools:

Various tools to create and post course lectures and materials as podcasts.

PRS Clickers

Every student's voice is heard with personal response clickers.
