Download the patch(es) free from the SPSS Web Site at:
support.spss.com/tech/Products/SPSS/Patches/index.html
In order to install a patch, you must have the corresponding 'original' version of the software. For example, to install the 14.0.2 patch, you must have Version 14 of SPSS; to install the 11.0.1 patch, you must have Version 11, and so forth. Note that in some cases, to reach a certain Release level, you must install two sequential patches. This was true, for example, in Version 10: to upgrade Version 10.0 to 10.0.7, you first had to apply the 10.0.5 patch, then 10.0.7. The SPSS Patch Web site referenced here has details about these requirements.
If you are not yet using the version of SPSS for Windows or SPSS for Macintosh that would allow you to use the most recent patch, contact the ITS User Services office (as shown below) for upgrade information. Check the SPSS Web site each quarter for new Patches.
The patch program can be installed in a single-user or shared network environment. With the new patch program, you'll always have the latest version of SPSS for Windows or SPSS for Macintosh!
You can call SPSS at 800.543.5815 if you have any questions.
The ITS User Services Office is in LVL Lower Commons (213.740.5555), or you can send e-mail to <consult@usc.edu> or <gpjones@usc.edu>.
