Exporting the Address Book in Outlook Express 6

This document will explain how to export the address book in Outlook Express as a comma-separated value (.csv) file in order to move it to a new email program, such as the Gmail program in a Google Apps for USC account.

Exporting the Address Book to a .CSV file

  1. From the File menu in Outlook Express, choose Export and then Address Book.

  2. In the Address Book Export Tool dialog box, click Text File (Comma Separated Values), and then click Export.

  3. In the CSV Export dialog box, click Browse to choose the location on your computer (such as your Desktop) where you wish to save your exported address book.
  4. In the File Name area on the Save As: dialog box, type the name of your address book and then click Save.

  5. Click Next.

    2. On the next screen, select the check boxes for the fields that you want to export, and then click Finish.

    3. Click OK and then click Close.
