Exporting the Address Book in Outlook Express 6
This document will explain how to export the address book in Outlook Express as a comma-separated value (.csv) file in order to move it to a new email program, such as the Gmail program in a Google Apps for USC account.
Exporting the Address Book to a .CSV file
- From the File menu in Outlook Express, choose Export and then Address Book.
- In the Address Book Export Tool dialog box, click Text File (Comma Separated Values), and then click Export.
- In the CSV Export dialog box, click Browse to choose the location on your computer (such as your Desktop) where you wish to save your exported address book.
- In the File Name area on the Save As: dialog box, type the name of your address book and then click Save.
- Click Next.
- On the next screen, select the check boxes for the fields that you want to export, and then click Finish.
- Click OK and then click Close.
