Mathematica Overview
Mathematica is a comprehensive technical-computing environment that allows the user to easily work with numerical, symbolic and graphical information and data. Mathematica is currently available on the UNIX, Mac OS, and Windows platforms.
Mathematica is particularly useful when working with symbolic notations or manipulating algebraic expressions. Additionally, Mathematica includes significant plotting and graphical visualization tools along with a built-in scripting language.
Mathematica Software for Faculty, Staff, and Students
USC now has a license to distribute Mathematica software to faculty, staff, and students for campus and home use. You may download a copy of this software to your Windows, Macintosh, or Linux computer.
There are three different versions of the Mathematica software.
Mathematica Software for Faculty and Staff
This software for faculty and staff to use on their home computers.
Mathematica Software for Campus Use
This to be installed on office and classroom computers that are connected to the USC network.
Mathematica Software for Students
This software is for students to install on their personal computers.
Each of the software pages provides instructions for how to download and install the software on your computer.
