Mathematica Software for Faculty and Staff (Mathematica 8.0.1)
USC faculty and staff members who would like to install Mathematica on their personal computers will need to use the client for faculty and staff.
Mathematica 8.0.1 is available for the following ITS-supported operating systems:
- Windows XP
- Windows Vista
- Windows 7
- Macintosh OS X 10.5
- Macintosh os X 10.6
- Linux (Not supported by ITS)
Mathematica 8.0.1 is also available, as a courtesy, for the following unsupported operating systems:
- Windows Server 2003
- Windows Server 2008
- Linux
ITS will be unable to assist you in installing Mathematica 8.0.1 on these operating systems.
Downloading Mathematica for Faculty and Staff
Due to USC’s license agreement with Mathematica's vendor, Wolfram, you will need to download the software directly from Wolfram at www.wolfram.com/siteinfo/homeuse.
You will need the staff/faculty license number to begin the download process. The site license number is available at the Mathematica for Faculty/Staff download link on software.usc.edu.
You may also be required to provide your USC email address. If you are asked for an organization name, please enter University of Southern California.
Installing the Mathematica Client for Faculty and Staff
Once you have downloaded Mathematica 8.0.1 software from the Wolfram website, please follow the installation instructions below to install the software on your Windows, Macintosh, or Linux computer.
