Mathematica Client for Students (Mathematica 8.0.1)

This software is for USC students who wish to install Mathematica 8.0.1 on their personal computers. It is available for the following operating systems:

Mathematica 8.0.1 is available for the following ITS-supported operating systems:

Mathematica 8.0.1 is also available, as a courtesy for the following non-supported operating systems:

ITS will be unable to assist you in installing Mathematica 8.0.1 on these non-supported operating systems

Downloading the Mathematica Client for Students

To download the Mathematica client for students:

  1. Go to software.usc.edu
  2. Choose your operating system from the list of available operating systems
  3. Scroll down to the USC Licensed Software
  4. Click the link for Mathematica 8.0.1 (Student)
  5. Read the information on this page and check the two boxes to indicate that you have read and understood the information.
  6. Click Accept to begin downloading the software.

You will need our campus license number to begin the process. The site license number is available by filling out the Mathematica Activation Key Request Form. You may also be required to provide your USC email address and the organization name, University of Southern California.

Installing the Mathematica Client for Students

NOTE: You will need an active internet connection while installing the campus version of Mathematica 8.0.1.

Once you have downloaded the Mathematica 8.0.1 software from software.usc.edu, please follow the installation instructions below to install the software on your Windows, Macintosh, or Linux computer.
