Configuring Your Blackberry for USC Wireless and Email

The ITS Customer Support Center does not currently provide support for the Blackberry; this information is provided as a courtesy.

This document will explain how to register and use your Blackberry on the USC wireless network and how to configure and access your USC email on your Blackberry.

Setting Up USC Email on Your Blackberry

  1. Select Email Setup on your Blackberry's home screen.
NOTE:Your phone's Setup Wizard may launch automatically the first time that you turn on your phone. It will also be featured as an icon on the home screen of your Blackberry.
  2. From the Email Setup screen, select I want to create or add an email address, then select Next.
  3. Accept the terms of the license agreement by selecting the I have read and understand the End User Agreement option or check box. Select I Agree.
  4. To integrate an email address you already use, enter your full email address and the password for that email account, then select Next. The site will confirm if the email address has been successfully added.
  5. Select OK.
  6. Select Log Out or Close.

Connecting to the Wireless Network

On the Home screen, choose Settings and select Turn Wireless On.

To connect to the wireless network, your wireless service must be active, and you must be in a wireless network coverage area. If your device is not connected to the wireless network, you can still use features that do not require a connection to a wireless network.
