Configuring Mobile Devices to Receive Google Apps at USC Email

This page provides the general email settings that you will need to access Google Apps at USC email on a media-capable mobile device.

Information Technology Services (ITS) does not currently support configuring mobile devices to receive Google Apps at USC email, so this information is provided as a courtesy to USC students.

Before setting up Google Apps at USC email on your mobile device, you will need to enable IMAP access on your account. To do, this:

  1. Go to and click Gmail.
  2. Click Settings at the top the Gmail page.
  3. Click the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab.
  4. Choose Enable IMAP in the IMAP Access section.
  5. Click Save Changes.

To access your Google Apps at USC email using a mobile device, please use the settings below.

Google Apps at USC General Mail Settings

Account Name: Enter USC Email

Mail Protocol: Select IMAP

Username: Enter your full USC email address (for example:

Password: Enter your Google password.

Email Address: Enter your full USC email address (for example,

Incoming Mail Server: Enter

Incoming Mail Port: Enter 993 and select use SSL.

Outgoing Mail Server: Enter

Outgoing Mail Port: Enter 587 and select use TLS.
