Configuring Your iPhone for USC Wireless and Email

The ITS Customer Support Center does not currently provide support for the Apple iPhone; this information is provided as a courtesy to users who wish to use their iPhone or iPod Touch on the USC wireless network and to access their USC email on their iPhone/iPod Touch.

Connecting your iPhone or iTouch to the USC Wireless Network

ITS recommends that you register your iPhone or iPod Touch for use on the USC network. To do so, you will need a valid USC user name and password in order to register your device.

  1. Locate the MAC address of your iPhone or iPod Touch:
  2. Go to the Home menu.
  3. Select Settings and then General.
  4. iphonegeneral.jpg
  5. Select About.
  6. Scroll down to Wi-Fi Address; this is your iPhone/iTouch's MAC address.
  7. iphoneabout.jpg

  8. On a computer with a working Internet connection, go to the Dynamic Host Registration page. This site will ask for your USC user name and password. Type your iPhone/iPod Touch's MAC address under the Ethernet Address section. You may leave the Comment field blank.
  9. Click Register. You should now be able to connect to the USC wireless network without any additional settings or software.

Setting Up USC Email on Your iPhone or iPod Touch

  1. From your iPhone/iPod Touch Home screen, select Settings, then Mail, Contacts, Calendars and Add Account.
  2. On the Add Account screen, for Email Account Type, select Other.
