ITS provides DSL service to the USC community through an agreement with Covad Communications. DSL service provides an alternative to dial-up connectivity to USC. It combines the convenience of an Ethernet connection--which means being connected all the time--with speeds many times faster than a 56K modem, from 144 Kbps to 1.1 Mbps. In addition, DSL service provides you with a USC IP-address so that you have access to all of the resources that are available to you when connected from a machine on campus.
