SPSS Overview
This page provides information about IBM SPSS Statistics software, including how to access the application and get support.
SPSS is used primarily for statistical analysis and provides tools to analyze data and create reports and graphs from that data.
Where to Find SPSS
SPSS is installed by Information Technology Services in the USC Computing Centers. These labs are located in the following locations:
- Leavey Library's Information Commons (lower level and second floor)
- Waite Phillips Hall of Education (WPH B34)
- King Olympic Hall (KOH 206)
- Henry Salvatori Computer Science Center (KOH 206)
SPSS may be installed at other locations throughout the university. Please contact your local school IT personnel to determine whether SPSS is available at your location.
How to Purchase SPSS for Your Desktop or Laptop Computer

For Faculty and StaffUSC Faculty and staff members may purchase a lease for the premium version of SPSS either through ITS or through an authorized IBM reseller. For information on the currently authorized IBM resellers for faculty and staff software, please see IBM's Academic Customers page.
NOTE: The software lease sold by ITS authorizes faculty and staff to use SPSS for both teaching and research while the lease sold by authorized IBM resellers authorizes use of the software for teaching purposes only.
