Descriptive Statistics
To calculate descriptive statistics using the Stata menu, select Statistics, Summaries, tables and tests, and then select Summary and descriptive statistics.
Finally, select Summary statistics.
A pop-up window will appear. To obtain descriptive statistics for all variables, simply click the OK button. An example of the output produced is shown below, using data from the S & P 500. You can see that, for each variable, Stata provides the number of observations, mean, standard deviation, minimum and maximum.
