The Student Compute Facility

The SCF (Student Compute Facility) cluster features two time-sharing hosts available for students to access using ssh or sftp: aludra.usc.edu and nunki.usc.edu. When one machine goes down, don't forget to try logging into the other one. Of these two, aludra is better equipped to handle more CPU-intensive tasks, since it is a higher class server.

ITS's Current Systems Status Page will tell you approximately how many people are logged on to each host, as well as the current System Load.
