Logging out at the end of your session is very important, especially if you are in a public user room. If you just walk away from a machine while still logged in, anyone will be able to access your account. Since you are responsible for all activity that takes place through your account, you could be held accountable for any illegal or destructive actions taken under your name.
To log out of your UNIX account, type
logout at the system prompt.
If you are logged into a Sun Workstation under CDE, then you can log out by clicking on the
EXIT button in the Control Panel. You can also log out by selecting
Log Out from the background popup menu. Click the right mouse button anywhere in the background to bring up the menu.
If you are logged into a Sun Workstation under Gnome, you may log out by going to the
Actions menu and selecting
