Controlling Web Page Access

By default, anyone can view any document published on a Web server. However, you can tell the server to restrict access to your pages through the use of

• Shibboleth or


• Apache's Basic Authentication

Note: Shibboleth is now the preferred method to restrict access to members of the USC community. If you are currently using Pubcookie for this purpose, it is recommended that you move to Shibboleth.
