PHP Scripting

PHP is a scripting language developed expressly for the Web. It provides sufficient robustness and scalability to satisfy experienced developers, while being relatively easy to use for novices.

PHP is installed as an Apache module on all Web servers operated by ITS.

Special Notes

  1. Register_gloabls is off.

  2. Short tags and ASP-style tags are disabled.

  3. PHP is compiled to work with MySQL database servers. However, there is currently no MySQL server provided for public use, so departments must operate their own or use an external provider.

  4. Due to security concerns, PHP file upload has been disabled on the public servers.
