Using USC's Google Site Search on Your Website
Since 2010, USC Web Services has used Google Site Search for the USC Home Page search. Site Search is the paid version of Google Custom Search, which many USC units already use for their web site searches.
USC units can customize USC's Site Search for their own web sites by using the following instructions:example files.
Google Search Coverage
Finally, whether you choose to use the USC GSS or set up your own CSE, you'll want to ensure that your site is fully indexed by Google. Check your site's coverage by going to http://www.google.com and searching for 'site:yoursite.usc.edu'.
If you find gaps in your search coverage, you are encouraged to use Google's Webmaster Tools to increase your site's visibility in Google. Go to http://www.google.com/webmasters/ to learn more.
