Climate and Dress

The average temperature in Los Angeles in November is 69F (20C). The average high temperature is 80F (26C) and average low temperature is 58F (14C). As always the temperature of the meeting rooms may be somewhat warmer or colder than you might expect, so layered clothing is a good option.

Ground Transportation

By Air/From LAX
(Los Angeles International Airport)

Shared Van Ride

The most popular shared van provider is Super Shuttle

You can either make reservation before you arrive or just go to the Super Shuttle desk which is located curbside outside of every airport terminal. Rides from the airport to USC are usually around $20/per person, one way. If you wish to use the shuttle back to the airport after the conference (which we recommend) you may receive a better deal. The shuttle will then pick you up at your accommodation the day of your departure.

Taxi

Taxis can be found curbside on the Lower/Arrival Level islands in front of each terminal under the yellow sign indicating Taxis. Passengers will be presented with a ticket stating typical fares to major destinations. Only authorized taxis with an official seal issued by City of Los Angeles Department of Transportation on each vehicle are permitted in the airport. It is illegal for any transportation services to solicit fares, and travelers using such services do so at their own risk.

Rental Cars

Approximately 40 rental car companies operate out of LAX, with vehicle rental sites located off the airport. Many of these rental car companies provide phone links inside or near the baggage claim areas on the Lower/Arrival Level of the terminals so travelers can request a free shuttle pick up to reach the rental car sites.
