by hand. Dillwyn was a naturalist, procelain manufacturer and country
magistrate. Many of the descriptions were based on several specimens
and these may be located in different institutions. See dixon (1966)

Potteryat Swansea became celebrated around 1814 for the true and
spirited paintings on it of butterflies, flowers, birds, and shells.

Lewis Dillwyn was a naturalist, a porcelain manufacturer and many
