Overview
The University of Southern California's involvement in East Asian Studies dates
to the founding of a Department of Asiatic Studies in 1911, but USC's interest in East
Asia itself goes back further, as the School of Theology trained many missionaries for
service in China, Japan and Korea. This site is an attempt to bring together and preserve
records of the development of USC's East Asian connections.
