Undoubtedly, "Die Dreigroschenoper" ("The Threepenny Opera") remains one of Kurt Weill's most famous works. This remarkable musical play was the collaboration between two brilliant artists of Weimar Germany-Bertolt Brecht and Kurt Weill. "The Threepenny Opera" was created during the same time that Lion Feuchtwanger and Weill worked together.

The inside covers of this score provide a historical summary of the play by Paul Wiegler and with some illustrations of the stage play.

The highly successful play was made into a film by the famous German director G.W. Pabst in 1931. The program for the film (shown below) provides a summary of the plot and publishes eight of Brecht's poems put so cleverly to music by Kurt Weill.
