The Hancock Natural History Collection consists of approximately 78,000 rare books and serials in the field of natural history, and over 7,000 papers, films, photographs, and sound recordings associated with the work of the Hancock Foundation. In addition, the Hancock Foundation Building houses the Hancock Memorial Museum, formerly the home of Captain G. Allan Hancock.

Directions and access:

USC Students, Faculty, Staff, and others who have USC library cards may
now request use of Special Collections materials from our online catalog Homer

Those without USC library cards may call our new main telephone number,
(213) 740-5900, or fax a request to (213) 740-2343.

Requested materials must be used in the Special Materials Reading Room,
located on the second floor of the Doheny Memorial Library. Since many
of our archival materials are stored off-site, it is recommended that
requests be made a day before visiting Special Collections.
