Wilmington Cemetery
Land for the Wilmington Cemetery was donated by Phineas Banning for the
burial of the first Banning baby at the time of its death in 1857. During
the Civil War most burials were at the Drum Barracks military encampment.
After the war the cemetery again came into general use.
The area is also believed to contain old Indian gravesites.
The address of Wilmington Cemetery is 605 E. "O" Street, Wilmington.
