Fish, Richard, 1919- [F2]

Richard Fish--photographer and 1940 graduate of the USC Cinematography School. In 1948 he took many photographs of Schoenberg one of which was used in an article in the magazine Music in the West (1951). He also took many photographs of Schoenberg's study at the request of Gertrud Schoenberg shortly following Schoenberg's death.

Frederick, Kurt, 1907- [F3]

Kurt Frederick--Austrian-born conductor of the Albuquerque Civic Symphony Orchestra, gave the world premiere of Schoenberg's A Survivor from Warsaw, op. 46 in 1948 with that orchestra. From 1938 to 1942, he was violist of the Kolisch Quartet.

Joachim-Carl Friedrich--German artist. He studied at the School of Arts and Crafts, the University in Berlin, and the Academy of Art in Munich. He studied music with Schoenberg at the Prussian Academy of the Arts in Berlin (1928-1933). He has painted visual impressions of Schoenberg's Opp. 4, 5, 7-10, 13, 15-18, 21, 34, Die Jakobsleiter, Moses und Aron. Fundació Caixa de Pensions--large Spanish bank which funds cultural events. In 1992 it sponsored a Schoenberg festival, which included an exhibition of his paintings, as well as concerts of his music.
