Lion Feuchtwanger papers

Description:
The voluminous archival material collected by Lion Feuchtwanger includes his personal and business correspondence, multiple versions of his writings, reviews of his works, photographs, and other personal artifacts. Lion Feuchtwanger was a celebrated German-Jewish novelist and outspoken enemy of the Nazis. In 1933, he went into exile in Southern France and in 1941 he emigrated to the United States. He was an important figure in the intellectual and artistic circles in Los Angeles during the 1940s and 1950s.
