- This small collection contains 19 issues (an incomplete run) of "The Lens", the newsletter of the Los Angeles Chapter of the American Association of Social Workers. The newsletters contain general information of interest to the chapter's members, including profiles of various Los Angeles social agencies and schools; brief announcements of lectures and other events of interest; essays on various social work topics; notes on activities of sister agencies; and lists of members.

Scope and Content
This small collection contains 19 issues (an incomplete run) of "The Lens", the newsletter of the Los Angeles Chapter of the American Association of Social Workers. The newsletters contain general information of interest to the chapter's members, including profiles of various Los Angeles social agencies and schools; brief announcements of lectures and other events of interest; essays on various social work topics; notes on activities of sister agencies; and lists of members. Beginning in 1936, the newsletter began to address more pressing concerns, such as legislation and its impact on the profession; the establishment of standards for the social work profession, etc.
