Abstract
The John Cork collection contains a wide variety of both produced and unproduced material related to the James Bond phenomenon. Primarily, the collection focuses on the James Bond films from 1962 (Dr. No) until 2002 (Die Another Day), and their impact on worldwide society and culture. Contents of the collection include scripts, call sheets, photographs, periodicals, clipping files, fan magazine content, merchandise, and other collected material. Much of the material comes from Cork's research while producing official "making of" documentaries, as well as other published works as an author and filmmaker.

Biographical Note

Born in Montgomery, Alabama, John Cork is a graduate of the School of Cinema-Television (now School of Cinematic Arts) of the University of Southern California. His screenplay, The Long Walk Home, was made into the 1990 feature of the same name, after first being a student production. As a noted and respected James Bond historian, he has (along with Bruce Scivally) co-produced numerous documentaries, featurettes, and co-authored  James Bond: The Legacy all detailing the James Bond phenomenon. He has also co-authored  Bond Girls are Forever: The Women of James Bond with Maryam d'Abo, and  James Bond Encyclopedia with Collin Stutz, and is on the board of directors of the Ian Fleming Foundation. He currently lives in Los Angeles, California with his wife Nicole Dillenberg and son Jimmy Cork, and is the president of Cloverland Productions.

Organization

The John Cork collection contains 16 different series according to the format of the material. Some series are further divided into subseries according to subject (Photographs, Subject Files), title (Books, Call Sheets, Film Files, Periodicals, Scripts), or format (Marketing, Video). As a general rule, researchers should note that material connected with a particular film will be found under the series Film Files, while material more loosely related to the James Bond phenomenon (e.g. personalities) are under Subject Files. It should also be noted that Bond film material has been organized chronologically by film release date rather than alphabetically by film title (e.g. Dr. No comes first instead of Casino Royale).
