Library Printing and Copying Information

Library Copying

Each library service point is equipped with one color photocopiers, and several libraries have additional copiers specially designed for book copying as well.  The features of each are described below.

Color Copiers (Xerox Workcentre Pro 3545)

Basic Features

    • Color and B&W copies
    • Scan with Email Output
    • Single/Double-sided outputs
    • Text and Photo-quality, Lighten/Darken image adjustment
    • Reduction and Enlargements to image size
    • Stapling

    • All USC Libraries locations

How to Make a Copy

1) Activate the external payment system by touching its display screen

2) Select: “Copying” Swipe USCard, or Library Copy/Print Card 
The payment system displays available balance, current activity, and the cost of copies.  Note that the system times out within 60 seconds if you do not continue.  This is to ensure that no one else makes a transaction on your account. [Tip: you can add more time by selecting “More” information on the payment system screen.]

3) Activate the copier by touching the screen

4) Feed loose originals to be copied on top face up, or place individual items on the glass face down

5) Adjust the image and output as desired

6) Press START to copy
 

How to Email a Scan

This service is available at the following locations:

1) Select "Copy" on the external payment system display screen

2) Swipe card (must use aUSCard or Copy card with value)

3) On the Copier display, select "Email" (under the All Services tab)

4) On the email display menu, select "To"

5) Type in target email address and press "Enter"

6) Press START to copy
Each copy will create a file, so multiple pages need to go through the feeder on the top of the machine


Book-Edge Copiers (Xerox Digital Bookmarks)

Basic Features

    • B&W copies
    • Book edge designed for large volumes (such as bound journals)
    • Lighten/Darken image adjustment
    • Reduction and Enlargements to image size

Note: Book-Edge Copiers are not networked, and therefore will not process print jobs.

How to Make a Copy

2) Select: “Copying” Swipe USCard, or Library Copy/Print Card

3) Activate the copier by touching the screen

4) Place individual items on the glass face down. For copying large bound volumes, place the gutter of the volume on the edge at the left-hand side of the glass, so that half of the item is on the glass.  This allows for clean copies of a single page. 

5) Adjust the image and output as desired

6) Press START to Copy
