Library Printing and Copying Information

Library Printing for Windows

The new print system in the USC Libraries is designed to increase the flexibility available to USC Libraries' users in choosing where their output is picked up. The software is loaded on all Leavey Library Information Commons computers, as well as all USC Library Kiosk computers. The locations of the print enabled Xerox devices can be found here.

Print output is available in 8.5 x 11 only. The print system's default color job type is mixed. It assesses each job's color pages and black & white pages and charges accordingly (e.g. if you print out a report with a single color image on one page, you will be charged for one color page, while all the other pages will be charged at the black and white rate). Information about job costs can be found here.

How to Print

Once you have a document to print out, and you have selected the appropriate Print function from your application, you will be presented with the following screen. You should choose LIBRARYPRINTING from the "Name" drop menu.

Select Ok, and you will be presented with a job identification screen

Here you will need to input your USC ID (printed on the front of your USCard) exactly. If you are using a USC Libraries print/copy card, use the ID number for the card printed on the front. It is very important that you enter either your USC ID or your copy card ID accurately as this is what will identify your print job at the printer.

Next, you can give your job a name, which is optional. Once you have done this, click Ok.

Finally, you will be presented a Job Acceptance screen. The Job Acceptance screen will itemize the number of pages in your job with a breakdown by color and black and white, and will display the total cost of your job. Once you click Yes your job will be sent to the print server. If you click No then your job will be cancelled. If the Job Acceptance screen times out then your print job will also be cancelled.

Please make sure that you have adequate funds on your USCard or Print/Copy Card to cover the cost of your print job. The Job Acceptance window is an opportunity to ensure that you do.
