Collections
Materials on Classical Studies are located primarily in Edward L. Doheny Jr. Memorial Library; of special note the first floor Humanities Reading Room and second floor Feuchtwanger Memorial Library contain large collections of materials on the classic. Books and journals are also found in Hoose Library of Philosophy, Leavey Library, and Grand Avenue Library. Materials on ancient art and architecture are found in the Helen Topping Architecture and Fine Arts Library, Watt Hall. The collection supports teaching and research through the doctoral level and beyond. The collection also supports teaching and independent study in archaeology through the undergraduate level.
Books and journals are in Greek, Latin, English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish.
Coverage of materials encompasses the period from approximately the 18th century BC to the 5th century AD, with special emphasis on Greek and Latin writings spanning the period 800 BC to 300 AD.
