- CSA Illustrata: Natural Sciences is now available! This powerful new database indexes illustrations and tables WITHIN scholarly publications, regardless of the topic of the article in which the item appears. Properly cited, these illustrations may be added to course material.
- To respond to your requests, we were able to use some year-end funds to purchase online access to Zoological Record back to 1978! It was activiated May 1. The title is available here, on the Web of Knowledge platform. (Remember, if you are off campus, use the proxy server to authenticate.)
Collections
The principal Life Sciences collections are located in the Science & Engineering Library.
- New Life Sciences Books:
- New books are shelved separately in the Science & Engineering Library, on the first floor to the right of the stairwell. These books may be checked out.
- Life Sciences Journals:
- Search the HOMER online catalog especially for print journals.
- Search "Serials Solutions" for electronic journals.
Related collections:
- Additional materials, including much of the Hancock Collection, are available in the Grand Avenue Library.
- For news on the progress of the Hancock collection transfers, see the Science and Engineering Library page.
- History of science and neuropsychology materials are located in the Edward L. Doheny Jr. Memorial Library.
- Philosophy of science materials are housed in the Hoose Philosophy Library.
- Related materials are also available at USC’s Norris Medical Library and Andrus Gerontology Library.
- Older and less frequently used materials, including paper journals for which USC provides electronic access, as well as USC theses and dissertations, are located in Grand Avenue Library. These items can be requested in the HOMER online catalog by clicking on the call number for the item.
The Life Sciences collections support Biological Sciences teaching and research through the doctoral level and beyond, as well as specialized research centers including the Wrigley Institute for Environmental Studies and the Southern California Sea Grant Program.
