Collections

The Philosophy monographic and journal collection is located in the Hoose Philosophy Library. The Hoose Philosophy Library has two large rare book collections housed in Special Libraries and Archival Collections in the Edward L. Doheny Jr. Library. The Flewelling Collection contains medieval manuscripts, Renaissance incunabula, and primary sources pertaining to the 17th Century. The Gomperz Collection contains primary sources of major and minor European philosophers from the Enlightenment through the Age of Ideology. The Philosophy collection supports teaching and research through the Doctoral level and beyond in the following areas of specialization:
