While working on her MPH, Erica worked as a health educator for a program that taught diet and nutrition information to low-income women and their children, recruited participants for a smoking study, and served as coordinator of the rapid HIV testing program for the Night Ministry, a social service organization that serves the homeless. She also found time to dance professionally for the Chicago Rush Arena Football team.

Dana Colbert
Dana tells us: "Currently, I am pursuing a Master of Health Administration through USC's School of Policy, Planning, and Development, which I am expecting to complete in May of 2006. Additionally, I am working as a Regional Manager of Community Development for the American Cancer Society, where I assist in the implementation of American Cancer Society programs and activities within the community. Most recently, I became a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) through the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc. I would encourage ANYONE with a degree in HP who is interested in health education to do the same, as it has already proved beneficial to my career path. Just a few months ago, I was asked to conduct a guest lecture on the topic of Health and Community Involvement as it related to a Civic Engagement course at Occidental College...that was very exciting! "

Angela (Lo) Hsu
Angela Lo will begin her residency in anesthesiology at UCLA in July.

Nicole (Le) Hudson

This is a natural outgrowth of her diverse work at CHCR, which included community education, individual counseling, advocacy for clients with Medicare-related billing disputes and representation of clients at Medicare appeals and administrative hearings. While working at CHCR, Nicole also had the opportunity to act as a panelist at a number of congressional forums, town hall meetings and community organization events.

Serineh graduated from Tufts University School of Medicine, and now has been working as a resident in emergency medicine at Los Angeles County/USC hospital. Despite working 12 hour shifts most days, Serineh still makes time for volunteer work, helping to raise money for the Ani and Narod Memorial Foundation, which funds projects, such as vaccine purchases, that benefit women and children in Armenia.

Christine Yoon
Christine reports "I am currently pursuing a graduate degree in Nursing through the University of San Francisco. USF offers a two-and-a-half year Master's Entry program for students who hold a bachelor's degree in non-nursing fields. I never thought about nursing as an HP undergrad because I didn't think there were any paths that could lead me to this career, but nursing is great because it incorporates so many HP-related concepts and theories. Just a few days ago, my professor started talking about the Health Belief Model and Prochaska and DiClemente's Stages of Change Model, which I remember from HP 300 with Dr. Unger. I totally recommend this program for anyone interested in becoming a nurse; HP grads would be great nurses because of the content learned in our courses and how congruent it is to this field."

Andrew Zaw
Andrew is studying in the Health Communication track of USC's Master of public Health program. He works as a teaching assistant for Dr. Elahe Nezami's HP 340 class, Health Behavior Statistical Methods, and has discovered that he really enjoys working with undergraduates. He hopes to pursue a Ph.D., researching tobacco use prevention.

Dori Zerlin
