- A Community Place
- This social service referral center, located at St. Mark's Lutheran Church at the corner of Vermont Avenue and West 36th Place, is a coordinated effort to educate the campus about the needs of the working poor and homeless while providing a central location for distribution of bus tokens, healthy bag lunches, referrals and a social worker to talk to.

- Academy of Finance
- Students who participate in this national program take special business courses and receive an enriched curriculum in their home high school, an internship with a major company, and a two-unit college level course at USC (BUAD 100X).

- Adventures Ahead
- Adventures Ahead is a neighborhood-based after-school tutoring program of Redeemer Community Partnership. The program provides tutoring, mentoring and recreational opportunities for children and families in the Exposition Park neighborhood. In partnership with the community and families, Adventures Ahead seeks to empower local children to become tomorrow's leaders. Currently, approximately 30 children in kindergarten through sixth-grade participate in regular tutoring and recreation programs. Approximately 60-75 kids participate in an expanded summer program.

- African Americans Building a Legacy of Health
- This four-year project is part of the REACH 2010 (Racial and Ethnic Approaches to Community Health) federal initiative that focuses on reducing the disparities in the areas of cardiovascular disease and diabetes by educating consumers and providers, improving access to quality nutrition, and increasing opportunities for physical activity within targeted areas. The project has been extended through 2007.

- After 'Cool Program
- A partnership between 24th Street Theatre and the USC School of Theatre, After 'Cool is an after-school arts program that uses theater as a tool to emphasize the importance of higher education. USC School of Theatre students and 24th Street Theatre artists design arts-enriched workshops for four, ten-week sessions for neighborhood students. The program focuses on students in third through twelfth grade. The students in the program are provided with field trips, mentors, and visits from guest artists who specialize in different genres of theater. Funded in part by a USC Neighborhood Outreach grant.

- After School Sports Connection
- The ASSC is a part of the USC Family of Schools' community outreach effort. ASSC offers after-school sports instruction in basketball, flag football, martial arts, soccer, volleyball, swimming, tennis and golf to 1,800 students in third through fifth grades. ASSC instructors are USC undergraduates, graduate students and student athletes. Funded by the Amateur Athletic Foundation and USC Neighborhood Outreach.

- Alive and Kicking (Bridging the Gap of Ageism)
- Staged presentations written and performed by Andrus Volunteers are presented at senior centers, colleges and high schools. The Andrus Volunteers make fun of ageing. A question and answer discussion follows each presentation.

- Alternative Spring Break
- At least three trips are organized each spring by ASB. Student participants spend spring break working as volunteers on one of these projects: Death Valley Environmental, Monterey Bay Homelessness, Navajo Nation (Utah), San Juan Islands (Washington), Guatemala and Isla Mujeres (Quintana Roo, Mexico). Past projects have dealt with education and youth as well as culture and the environment. All trips have a strong service and academic focus as well as connections to the community through high school participants, elementary school pen pal projects and school presentations. Sponsored by the USC Volunteer Center and USC Philanthropy Fund.

- Alzheimer's Disease Research Center
- The Alzheimer's Disease Research Center was established in 1984 by a federal grant from the National Institute on Aging. As a comprehensive research program specializing in Alzheimer's disease and aging, the ADRC provides a complete diagnostic evaluation and ongoing follow-up for all participants. The ADRC provides outreach to the community, including educational speakers. Services also include referrals for caregiver support, education and medication trials.

- Anatomical Gift Program
- The USC Anatomical Gift Program is administered under the guidelines established by the state of California. Individuals who are interested in becoming donors to this program are required to complete three forms to formalize this process: the donation form, signed by the donor and witnessed by two individuals; a vital statistics form; and a brief medical history. Certain circumstances may preclude acceptance of the donation. When death occurs within a 50-mile radius of the university and within Los Angeles County, the university assumes responsibility for all costs.

- Andi's Toy Box
- Honoring 16-year-old friend Andi Collins, who succumbed to breast cancer in 2003, high school student Brittany Ambrosanio created a program that provides boxes of toys for Southern California cancer centers, including USC/Norris. The program provides the children and young siblings of cancer patients with puzzles, coloring books, crayons, markers, DVDs, videos, magazines and other items to keep them occupied in waiting rooms.

- Andrus Volunteers Ageism Project
- The program arranges for Andrus Volunteers to visit elementary through high school classrooms and address the common myths of aging that might concern young people. Volunteers candidly answer questions ranging from sexuality to those concerning spirituality. The program helps to shatter stereotypical thinking about the elderly and is valuable to students at all grade levels.||

- Anti-Graffiti Poster Contest
- This annual student art contest is organized during the fall to promote graffiti-free schools and neighborhoods and to support a crime resistant community. Sponsored by the USC Family of Schools' Safety Task Force, Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum Commission and USC Civic and Community Relations.

- Argentine School of Los Angeles
- Offers instruction in Spanish to kindergarten through twelfth-grade students on Saturdays at USC's Von KleinSmid Center. The goals of the school are to teach courses in Spanish language, Spanish and Latin American literatures, history and geography, confer primary and secondary degrees recognized by the Ministry of Education of the Argentine Republic and other Latin American countries, and promote Latin American culture.

- Art in the Village
- Art in the Village is an art competition open to all students in grades K-5 who attend the USC Family of Schools. Winners of each art competition have their artwork professionally installed by USC Fisher Gallery staff at the University Village Shopping Center. Each exhibition begins with an opening reception, at which the student artists are awarded certificates and have the opportunity to show their artwork to others. Funded in part by a USC Neighborhood Outreach grant.

- Asian American Tutorial Project
- Children from first to sixth grade receive one-on-one tutoring and mentoring every Saturday. Primarily situated at Castelar Elementary School in Chinatown, service is provided for the entire year, but split into four, seven-week sessions, in cooperation with Occidental College and UCLA. Since 1968, AATP has reached over 200 elementary students and over 200 tutors each year.
