- Manual Arts High School Initiative
- The mission of the Manual Arts High School Initiative is to provide high quality pre-collegiate programs within a safe learning environment, enabling students to pursue post secondary education or job training. The overarching goal is to create and implement programs that assist students in developing the needed skills to function as productive members in a highly technological and global society.

- Manual Arts High School Teen Clinic
- The clinic offers free, on-campus services to students attending Manual Arts High School. Students can receive care for acute and chronic health issues; physical exams; immunizations; vision and hearing tests; family planning; counseling; and education to prevent pregnancy, drug and alcohol problems. In addition, assistance is provided in enrolling families in Medi-Cal, Healthy Families and Healthy Kids programs that provide free or reduced-cost health insurance.

- Manual Arts Interactive Web Site
- This collaboration between Manual Arts High School and the USC Multimedia University Academy is aimed at improving the retention rates and preparing high school students in the community for college. The program is focused on creating an interactive Web site for the high school. The staff of Manual Arts and its students will be provided an on-line scheduler and a place for the posting of homework, test scores, class announcements and class handouts. The on-line office is 24-hours a day and accessible from anywhere. Students gain an opportunity for computer and software knowledge that will assist in future preparation of r?sum?s, presentations and college applications.

- Mastering the Admission Process
- The MAP Program is a formal outreach program for middle school AVID students. The program identifies and follows students through their high school careers and encourages them to pursue a college degree from any four-year institution. Students are introduced to the advantages of a college degree, options for higher education, preparation for college entrance exams, the college admission and financial aid process. The program also provides informative workshops for parents. ||USC students provide mentoring, tutoring, and program building by utilizing their talents and studies. MAP leaders will be trained in techniques and strategies to help enhance students' academic performance, assist students in setting realistic goals and reinforce positive school-related behaviors.

- Mathematics, Engineering, Science Achievement
- MESA's mission is to motivate and prepare disadvantaged students to pursue math-based college education and careers. MESA works with students attending middle and senior high schools in Los Angeles. MESA provides academic components, weekly meetings, field trips, speakers, study support, summer programs, math/science competitions, etc. MESA also provides teachers with curriculum, math/science materials and kits, and training.

- McGruff, the Crime Prevention Dog
- Officer McGruff, the Crime Prevention Dog, visits preschool through fourth-grade classrooms to share ideas on personal safety. Videotaped programs and speakers are available for older students.

- Medical Counseling, Organizing and Recruitment Program
- This Saturday tutorial program emphasizes support in math, science and English. Students are placed in small groups (approximately 15) and tutorial assistance is provided by undergraduate students primarily. Selected student participants are also offered a summer work-study experience in a health care facility. All student participants have demonstrated an interest in attending college and ultimately gaining entry into a health profession career.

- Meet USC
- A program for high school students and family members at the University Park campus, which includes a campus tour, admission information, and departmental appointments when possible. The program is available Mondays and Wednesdays at 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., and Fridays at 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon. Transfer students should attend scheduled Transfer Days. - MESA Mission Science Center
- This free, after-school science program for local children and youth takes the mystique out of science by offering hands-on science and technology workshops, experiments and demonstrations. Funded in part by a USC Neighborhood Outreach grant.

- Mexican American Alumni Association Scholarships
- MAAA provides tuition assistance scholarships to Hispanic undergraduate and graduate (master's candidates only) students at USC. Students must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents to apply. Grants are also awarded to students at the Keck School of Medicine of USC and students at USC Law School. Applications are available in January of each year and are due May 31. To request an application, send a self-addressed stamped envelope or visit the MAAA Web site and click on the scholarship section to download the application and instructions.

- Mobile Dental Clinic
- The Mobile Dental Clinic provides free, comprehensive dental care to more than 1,500 needy children throughout the Southern California, many from migrant farmworker families. Most of the children have never seen a dentist, and nearly all have their treatment completed by USC dental and dental hygiene students during their seven days of operation in each community. Mobile and portable equipment is set up at the clinic site.

- Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano/a de Aztlan Annual Raza High School Leadership Conference
- This conference is a day-long event for Los Angeles County high school students. The most recent conference included academic workshops, college admissions and financial aid workshops, cultural workshops, a college fair, cultural entertainment, and a keynote speaker. Sponsored by the USC Philanthropy Fund.

- Multi-Site Family Medicine Residency/Haven House Collaboration
- Family Medicine residents visit Haven House (a women's shelter) to provide TB testing, medical assessments, treatment and referral, and psychosocial services. Residents learn about domestic violence and its impact on families. The two agencies collaborate on needs assessments and developing services to meet mutual needs.

- Multimedia University Academy
- The Multimedia University Academy is a tuition-free program that trains participants for technical and administrative support positions, provides community college preparation, and helps with with job placement, while exposing participants to careers in the digital age. The aim of MUA is to provide training in 21st-century skills and digital resources to help local community members become self-sustaining and to achieve educational goals.
