- After 'Cool Program
- A partnership between 24th Street Theatre and the USC School of Theatre, After 'Cool is an after-school arts program that uses theater as a tool to emphasize the importance of higher education. USC School of Theatre students and 24th Street Theatre artists design arts-enriched workshops for four, ten-week sessions for neighborhood students. The program focuses on students in third through twelfth grade. The students in the program are provided with field trips, mentors, and visits from guest artists who specialize in different genres of theater. Funded in part by a USC Neighborhood Outreach grant.

- Educational Talent Search for Central and South Central Los Angeles
- Educational Talent Search is a federally funded outreach program that provides information, educational guidance counseling and support for low-income middle and senior high school students, dropouts and graduates. It also provides information about college admission requirements and financial aid programs, and assists students in completing and submitting admission and financial aid applications. All services provided free of charge to eligible participants.

- Going for the Goal
- The program teaches life skills to adolescents through ten, hour-long workshops, taught by USC undergraduates or by high school students to middle school students. Leaders are first selected and trained, then sent to a middle school classroom where, for ten consecutive weeks, they implement the program. The leaders receive weekly supervision in workshop content and leadership skills. Thus, there are two targets for the intervention: the USC undergraduates/high school students and the middle school students. Both are taught life skills, while the leaders have a service-learning experience. The programs takes place for one school semester.

- Grammy in the Schools Career Day
- More than 1,500 students from 20 Southern California high schools join several dozen national competition winners for an all-day program of performances, workshops and panel discussions designed to kindle their interest in musical careers. It is an outreach program of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (NARAS) in partnership with the USC Thornton School of Music.

- Joint Educational Project
- JEP is a service-learning program based in USC College. The program is designed to broker between academic courses and schools and service agencies in the University Park neighborhood. Each year JEP places approximately 2,000 students as mentors, mini-course instructors, translators, assistants to teachers and other helping professionals. Since 1972, students from over 65 different academic courses have attempted to understand the practical implications and applications of course-related concepts through community-service activities. Their work involves weekly reflective exercises as well as an end-of-semester paper, and is supported by classroom instructors and teaching assistants.

- Kid's Corner
- The USC Athletics Kid's Corner program distributes complimentary tickets to youth organizations throughout Southern California. Because of the large number of groups participating in the Kid's Corner program (over 2,000), as well as NCAA and PAC 10 Conference restrictions on complimentary tickets, there are events and ticket quantity limits. - Kids In Sports
- In partnership with USC Recreational Sports, Kids In Sports expands instructional sports programs for low-income boys and girls at the Vermont Sports Club. The project serves boys and girls from the University Park and Health Sciences Campus area year-round, after school, and during weekend and summer periods. Recipient of a USC Neighborhood Outreach grant.

- Literature, Arts, Culture, Education and Recreation
- LACER is an established after-school program for middle school students in Los Feliz. Keck School of Medicine of USC students join with the LaCER program at Martin Luther King, Jr. Middle School to teach weekly sessions on drugs and alcohol, sex and contraception, hygiene, nutrition, and development for boys and girls. A mentoring program also connects individual medical students with chosen at-risk students.

- Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano/a de Aztlan Annual Raza High School Leadership Conference
- This conference is a day-long event for Los Angeles County high school students. The most recent conference included academic workshops, college admissions and financial aid workshops, cultural workshops, a college fair, cultural entertainment, and a keynote speaker. Sponsored by the USC Philanthropy Fund.

- Neighborhood Academic Initiative
- NAI delivers educational services, social referrals, and leadership development to low-income minority students and families residing in communities contiguous to USC. The USC NAI provides a comprehensive educational program to help students acquire academic and social skills needed to flourish in a college or university. Students fulfilling all requirements according to academy standards and meeting USC undergraduate entrance requirements will be afforded a no-loan financial aid package to complete a USC undergraduate degree. NAI's Saturday Academy is funded in part by a USC Neighborhood Outreach grant.

- Psychological Services Program
- The program offers comprehensive mental health services including individual, group and family therapy, psychological/educational testing and referral. The Psychological Services Program is located within the Teenage Health Center and actively participates in the multidisciplinary component of the division's activities. Services offered through the program are primarily available to teens who are receiving care in other divisional programs. Common problems addressed include depression/suicide, anxiety, stress-related symptoms, school problems, abuse and psychophysiologic complaints.

- Risk Reduction Program
- The program provides free comprehensive services for youth ages 12 through 23 living with HIV, prevention services for youth at risk, as well as various research programs. The program also co-sponsors the Los Angeles County Adolescent HIV Consortium and Transgender Youth Consortium. The Minority AIDS Initiative also provides services for HIV positive youth of color between 13 and 24 living in Los Angeles County.

- Social Science Research Institute
- The Social Science Research Institute is a multidisciplinary research institute housing two major centers. SSRI has for years focused on Los Angeles in general as a location for applied social research. The Center for Longitudinal Research focuses on understanding the roots of human behavioral deviance, violent and non-violent crime, mental illness and certain brain disorders. The center concentrates on neuroscience and biological research methods and the examination of the interactions of biological, psychological and sociological approaches to these problems. The Center for Research on Crime and Social Control has been USC's focal point for research on the criminal justice system, juvenile gangs, status offenders, the criminal courts and other crime issues. The center is active in management of social program evaluations as well as locating and interacting with local authorities and service organizations, which is crucial to any social program's success.

- Substance Abuse Treatment Program
- Free, outpatient services are available for youth between the ages of 12 and 24 who have an alcohol or drug problem. Individuals may call directly for an appointment or be referred by an agency. Services funded by Los Angeles County Alcohol and Drug Program Administration.

- Teenage and Young Adult Health Center
- The center sees adolescents between the ages of 12 and 21. A multidisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, psychologists and other health care professionals offers comprehensive medical and psychosocial health care to adolescents and young adults. Medical services include routine physicals, skin problem examinations, injury treatment, growth and weight problems, family planning, menstrual problems, treatment of sexually transmitted diseases, eating disorders, HIV clinic, substance abuse, etc.

- Tooth Tutoring
- The USC School of Dentistry's Dental Hygiene Division, in cooperation with the USC Joint Educational Project, offers this dental health program in the local schools each year with teams of students preparing and presenting lessons on proper nutrition and dental care.

- Trauma Outreach Program, Division of Trauma and Critical Care
- The Trauma Outreach program of the Division of Trauma Surgery and Surgical Critical Care seeks to deglamorize trauma and put a face to the victims and the tragedy that perennially involves urban arenas of warfare in the United States. It attempts to educate young people at risk through presentations depicting the end results of gunshot, shotgun and stab wounds, which are the final common pathways of interpersonal violence. By educating young people, health care practitioners and the public at large through visits to high schools, juvenile hall detention centers and public forums, the program delivers a message of non-violence and peaceful conflict resolutions. To date, the program has interfaced with over 13,000 students, physicians, executives and community leaders and has been widely recognized by national and international agencies and the media.

- Trojan KidS Camp
- Trojan KidS Camp is a summer youth program designed to enhance the on-campus experience of youngsters in the Los Angeles community. The program is open to youth ages 10-16. Supervised and structured sports activities are the basis of Trojan KidS Camp. Activities include swimming and other sports.

- Upward Bound Mathematics and Science Regional Center
- This is a residential summer program for high school students from Arizona, California, Hawaii, American Samoa and Nevada who are from low-income families or whose parents have not achieved a college degree in the United States. Program participants receive preparation to pursue an undergraduate degree and a career in a mathematics or a science-based field.

- Upward Bound Project for Central, South Central and Southeast Los Angeles
- The Upward Bound Project is funded by a federal initiative through the U.S. Department of Education. The project serves low-income, first-generation students from 13 to 19 years of age, including students who may be physically challenged. All services are provided at no cost to eligible participants. Upward Bound has two components: a intensive six-week summer, residential experience and an academic year component, which provides such services as college admission and financial aid advisement, college board testing preparation, and academic advisement. In addition, students take part in culturally diverse activities.

- USC Educational Opportunity Programs Center
- EOPC exists to identify, select, train and place low-income and/or first-generation, college-bound young people between the ages of 11 and 27 into higher education programs, and to help them to successfully complete a post-secondary educational program of study. USC EOPC is the umbrella organization for the Central and South Central Los Angeles Educational Talent Search Projects; Central, South Central, and Southeast Upward Bound Programs; and the Upward Bound Math and Science Regional Center.

- USC Family of Schools
- The USC Family of Schools (USC FOS) is a partnership that provides educational, cultural and developmental opportunities to more than 12,000 children and youth who attend school in the neighborhoods close to USC's University Park Campus. The approximate target area is bounded by the Santa Monica Freeway (north), the Harbor Freeway (east), Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard (south), and Western Avenue (west). ||Implemented as part of USC's "Children and Families University Community Initiative," USC FOS targets eight schools surrounding the University Park Campus. The USC FOS Full Committee, composed of school principals and educators, USC faculty and staff members, and members of the community, develops and coordinates a coherent and comprehensive approach that has a positive impact on the educational achievement of the children enrolled in the eight target schools. Programs address the following areas: safety, positive extracurricular activities, literacy, technology, science education, student academic achievement, parental involvement and education, and school administrator professional development. - The USC HSC Partner Schools Task Force is a partnership that provides educational, cultural and developmental opportunities for approximately 4,700 children and youth who attend school in the neighborhoods close to USC's Health Sciences Campus in East Los Angeles. Implemented as part of USC's "Children and Family University Community Initiative," the task force targets four public schools: Griffin Avenue Elementary School, Murchison Street Elementary School, Sheridan Street Elementary School and Francisco Bravo Medical Magnet High School. - USC Law Enforcement Explorer Program
- The Law Enforcement Explorer Program is a special interest program of the Boy Scouts of America open to both young men and women. The primary goal of the program is to familiarize participants with the many facets of law enforcement by providing them with training and exposure to police functions. Participants are provided an opportunity to learn about law enforcement as a career, while developing leadership, teamwork, civic and community service skills.

- USC Skull and Mortar Kids' Day
- Each year, one middle school in the Los Angeles Unified School District is invited to participate in Kids' Day held at the USC Health Sciences Campus. The event provides youth with information related to relevant topics to build strong character and self-worth. Topics include poison prevention, safe sex, careers in the health care profession, substance abuse, and anti-gang life.

- USC Thornton JazzReach
- The USC USC Thornton JazzReach Program provides concerts, lessons and clinics by student ensembles to groups, schools or functions that request these services. The JazzReach program serves more than 100 at-risk, inner-city students by providing them with individual instruction, band ensemble rehearsals and new instruments. The students involved receive these benefits from talented students from the USC Thornton Jazz Studies Department, and everyone involved grows from the unique experience. Master classes are presented by USC Thornton Jazz Faculty, and all of the students involved perform regularly at famous jazz venues in the Los Angeles area. Funded in part by a USC Neighborhood Outreach grant.
