2. Set collection priorities
3. Identify and implement preventive measures
4. Identify insurance coverage, emergency funds, accounting procedures
5. Document and post emergency procedures
6. List names and telephone numbers of staff for emergency response
7. Write a detailed disaster plan
8. Include in the disaster plan maps of collections and priorities for salvage
9. Collect supplies, services, names of experts; establish connections and cooperative agreements
10. Name a disaster team and train them
11. Educate fire and security personnel
12. Keep informed about developments in the field
