Teacher Workshop Series
Once you register for the team competition of the Edison Challenge, you are invited to attend a series of science workshops to be held at USC and Edison facilities. You are not required to attend the Saturday workshops, they are entirely optional to participating in the competition.
By attending the workshops, you will receive grade-appropriate, inquiry-based, hands-on activities, as well as free curricular materials and science kits to take back for classroom use – plus related science content talks by research scientists and supplemental content resources.
Additional incentives include:
- $100 participation stipends available for each full workshop attended
- Travel reimbursements (reimbursement for round trip mileage in excess of 50 miles per workshop)
- Free classroom materials
- Professional development hours
- Trip to USC’s Wrigley Marine Science Center on Catalina Island (must have attended two of the three other workshops offered to be eligible)
Once you register your Edison Challenge team, you will be contacted regarding further details of the workshop series and how to sign up to participate.
