Transportation Update

Transportation news flash . . .

Emeriti Center Electric Cart

The late Frances Feldman (left), Bob Scales (at the wheel), and Janette Brown (right) initiate the new electric cart for use by USC retirees and others who need extra help with on campus transportation.

We would like to sincerely thank Associate Senior Vice President Dan R. Stimmler who started the ball rolling to create a place in front of the Ethel Percy Andrus Gerontology Center for handicapped drop-off.

Thanks to the expert help of TrojanServices Director Anthony Mazza, there is space in front of the Andrus Gerontology Center for three cars to drop off anyone who needs closer access to the building.  So far, this has allowed a few USC retirees and Andrus Volunteers to attend meetings that they would otherwise not be able to attend.

In addition, we now have an electric cart (above) to help transport those who have difficulty walking to campus locations (or to their cars).  Dean Gerald C. Davison of the USC Davis School of Gerontology has generously provided a parking space for our electric cart, and we are happy to share this transportation vehicle so that many more can have easier access to campus meetings and events.

If you are planning to come for a special Emeriti Center event and need assistance with parking your car or if you need to be transported to a campus location, we will make every effort to assist you, subject to availability of cart and driver.  Christopher Curry, our administrative assistant, will be contact person for the electric cart.  You may reach him by calling our main line: (213) 740-8921.
