PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
Thank you for the privilege of serving as the SRA president the past four years. I have enjoyed working with many of you and with colleagues from the RFA. Our Trojan Family, due to the efforts of so many in the USC retirement community, is learning more about our value to the university. We are learning more about ways we can stay connected to USC.
On June 8, we will elect a new group of officers. Let's support them by offering to help, if asked, or to volunteer to work with the board. Our new officers will be:
President ----- John Hisserich
Vice-President ----- Jeanne Church, with Bob Church
Secretary ----- Helen Jones
Treasurer ----- Dick Martin
We look forward to their strong leadership. Again, thanks to all of you for your support over the past four years.

SOME WORDS OF WISDOM, POSSIBLY
On Deep Thoughts:
A day without sunshine is like night.
On Higher Education:
College is a fountain of knowledge...and the students are there to drink.
On Problem Solving:
When the only tool you own is a hammer, every problem begins to resemble a nail.
On Materialism:
He who dies with the most toys, is, nonetheless, still dead.
On Economics:
The cost of living hasn't affected its popularity.
On Publishing Or Perishing:
I am returning this otherwise good typing paper to you because someone has printed gibberish all over it and put your name
at the top.
--Unknown Professor of English, USC
On Revisionist History:
What was sliced bread the greatest thing since?
On Poetic Love:
When you're swimmin' in the creek
And an eel bites your cheek
That's a moray!

SONNET XLIII
by Edna St. Vincent Millay
What lips my lips have kissed, and where, and why,
I have forgotten, and what arms have lain
Under my head till morning; but the rain
Is full of ghosts tonight, that tap and sigh
Upon the glass and listen for reply,
And in my heart there stirs a quiet pain
For unremembered lads that not again
Will turn to me at midnight with a cry.
Thus in winter stands the lonely tree,
Nor knows what birds have vanished one by one,
Yet knows its boughs more silent than before:
I cannot say what loves have come and gone,
I only know that summer sang in me
A little while, that in me sings no more.
