About GPSS

The Graduate and Professional Student Senate is the official voice of the graduate and professional student body. Elected officers, senators (department/school reprensatives), and special interest committees tackle issues specific to graduate and professional students and provide venues for interaction beyond the academic realm. Our funding comes from your programming fees, and we use this money to provide advocacy, social, academic, and community service events, and funding for student groups throughout the year.

Legal Counseling for Grad students

GPSS offers two 30-minute sessions of free legal counseling every week. To schedule an appointment, you have to go to the Undergraduate Student Government Office in the Student Union Building (STU 106) and sign up at the desk.
Att. David Payab is in his office from 4 pm to 9 pm on Mondays, but the schedule may be subject to change. Two of the ten 30-minute-slots are to be assigned to graduate students.

David Payab provides legal consultation in all areas of law except criminal law, family law, bankruptcy, taxes and probate.
Please contact Owen Caine (at ocaine@usc.edu) for more information.

If you attend a legal counseling session, we would like to ask you to complete the evaluation form that will be sent to you after you have attended the session. The evaluations are necessary in order to maintain and guarantee the quality of the service.
