Description:
The Campus Safety Committee offers recommendations to enhance all aspects of the campus safety climate for the benefit of graduate and professional students in cooperation with the Department of Public Safety (DPS). The committee will also act in an advisory capacity for GPSS on related matters. The committee also liaises with administration.

Tasks/Goals:

Gather more input from graduate students on campus safety concerns
Address campus safety issues at DPS Student Advisory Committee Meetings
Discuss plans and work to do about campus safety at committee meetings
Update progress at GPSS Committee Roundtable and Senate Meetings
Participate in each Campus Safety Inspection at UPC and HSC and produce report
Administer Campus Safety Survey and analyze the results

Meeting Times: Bi-weekly Fridays from 12:00-1:00 pm. Rotating location.

Office Hours: Monday 2-3pm, STU 106 (GPSS Office)

Current Issues Being Addressed:

Administering the campus safety survey
- Addressing campus safety issues at DPS Student Advisory Committee
Meetings.

- Campus Walk Series

- Collecting concerns related to student health services & insurance
- Looking into organizing a campus safety meeting and gathering information
for a resource guide
- Gathering student inputs regarding the wait time with campus cruiser
service
- Gathering student inputs regarding the tram service (frequency and routes)
